02 — THE TRACKS

Four tracks.Infinite depth.

Each track focuses on a different layer of the modern AI stack. You choose where to build.

01
AI Infrastructure & MLOps

AI Systems

For engineers who care about what happens after the model is trained. Build the infrastructure that makes AI reliable at scale.

02
Pipelines & Data Quality

Data Infrastructure

For engineers who believe clean data is the hardest problem in ML. Build the pipelines, extraction systems, and data quality layers that ML teams depend on.

03
AI Product Analytics

Intelligent Products

For builders who want to close the loop between ML and real users. Build AI-powered product features that solve measurable user problems.

04
Data for Public Impact

AI for Public Impact

For engineers who want their work to matter beyond the org chart. Apply data science and ML to problems that affect people directly.

07Submission Guidelines

What to buildSubmission Guidelines

Each team must submit all four deliverables before the deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.

Teams / 1-4 membersEligibility / Women and non-binary identifyingIP / You own your project
01
Working Prototype

A functional demo hosted or accessible via a public link. Code must be in a public or shared repository. A pitch deck without working code will not be scored on technical criteria.

02
Project Write-up

A README or short document (max 1,000 words) covering: the problem you're solving, your technical approach, architectural decisions, and the potential for real-world impact.

03
3-Min Demo Video

A screen-recorded walkthrough of your project in action. No production value required - clarity and functionality are what matter.

04
Presentation Deck

Five to eight slides covering: the problem, your solution, system architecture, technical stack, and next steps if you were to continue building.

Judging Criteria

How you'll be scored

30%
Technical Depth
Quality of engineering decisions, system architecture, use of AI/ML, and code quality. The judges are technical. Shortcuts will be visible.
25%
Impact & Relevance
Does the solution address a real, measurable problem? Is the use case significant? How would this affect real users or systems if deployed?
20%
Innovation
Novelty of the approach, creative application of technology, or an unexpected angle on a known problem.
15%
Completeness
Is the project functional? Is it documented? Can a judge actually run the demo?
10%
Communication
Clarity of the pitch deck and demo video. Can non-specialists understand the problem and solution?
